This rule set is a huge improvement over the previous overly restrictive ruleset. Keeping the rules to safety rules will maximize builder creativity while keeping competitors and corner workers safe. I foresee some additional fuel system requirements may come up if someone gets overly creative in that department. Hopefully in the future we'll find a way to safely incorporate hybrid and electric powertrains.

We definitely would like to incorporate hybrid and electric powertrains. The RXB is not adverse to them. If someone knowledgeable in these types of drivetrains is interested in developing some rules, send an email to [email protected].Charles

If I build a roll cage (per GCR 9.4.C) with a low front hoop, does this mean I don't need to have a roof? If I need a roof, you might want to explicitly state so. Also, if I must have a roof, can it be of "plastic or composite" material like the other body panels? If so, what are the limitations on "composite"? Cloth with paint is "composite"...

Thanks, Andrew
The new Constructor class ruleset which has now been published in the 20201 rulebook completely replaces the old class rules. It’s a much more open requirements based ruleset (versus allowances). Be sure to refer to the 2021 rulebook before doing anything for Constructor class now.
