The current edition of SportsCar Magazine makes the following statement:
"SCCA's RallyCross program is amid some very exciting times, which includes a pending rules change that could completely alter the face of the sport"
Instead of reading further I immediately jumped over to the forum to see all the exciting developments I've been missing but I didn't find anything that could be described as exciting. Surely the new cracked window rule isn't going to change the face of the sport (or will it!?!?!).
Back to the magazine... It goes on to say:
"The new class is going to be a production drivetrain with a custom chassis. 'We're going to have minimum height, width, and length standards, and a safety design,' says Hyatt. 'It'll be a production-based drivetrain with a maximum displacement in a frame that somebody built. We're in the process of fine-tuning the details, so the proposal will hopefully be out soon. Then we plan to pilot the program in 2018 and, hopefully in 2019, it'll be a full-fledged class.'"
OK, who knows what? Spill the beans. If this program is being piloted in 2018 then we needed to get started building 6 months ago. We need details/proposed rules now.
